Reserve, in a day silo system and not a system that rewards seniority in the slightest, is all of a sudden going to go senior?? Are you high?
How do you arrive at that conclusion? It's not like you can bid reserve as a senior pilot to avoid flying; if there's a trip that matches your availability and you have the lowest credit of the pilots on reserve, you're flying it. Nothing in the TA changes any of the fundamentals, just adds more long call options, a couple extra days off/year, etc. What am I missing?

This is embarrassing. Been here for over 15 years, just made my mind up to start applying elsewhere after seeing this. And yea, I’m a Captain, and a line holder. I’ll be voting no, but I think it’s time to leave this regional airline. It’s guys like this who have ruined this place during my time here, and before. Future guys coming here, after seeing this take my advice……. don’t. With disappointment.

I guess somebody needs to subsidize the Horizon rate increases. At least they're beating inflation.

17 year lurker here, 6 years at Alaska, 15 years in ALPA. This is my 1st post on APC.
I know from being through 3 other AIP's and votes on TA's at other ALPA properties which included post-bankruptcy concessions and/or reconciliations.... that we know very little until we hear the details from the NC and MEC. The synergies are in the details as every section that's been changed effects every other section.
The details reveal the extent to which the changes made will benefit or harm our quality of life.
We have so many years of sub-par quality at Alaska that, barring a total rewrite of the contract (ch. 11) or another merger, we cant, in my opinion, expect ALPA negotiators to correct it in one single agreement.
I also know that this was just released. Less than 24 hrs. ago. Most of what we post here before everyone has a chance to listen to the podcasts and read throug the TA and call our reps if we have questions, is 90% emotion.
We dont fly on 90% emotion. Why would we post or vote that way?
Entertainment methinks. Now, pardon me while I go listen to the podcasts and call my rep.

On here, I am embarrassed to be a pilot. You have the dirty 30 throwing a tantrum, like 2 year olds. People from other airlines chiming in because they are scared our deal will affect their pie in the sky dreams. What I learned today, never volunteer! Our LEC, our MEC, and our NC are stack full of the best people, I am thankful for their tireless efforts. We will go 306, 330-335, 345-355 with this deal. Alpa National has vetted it. I’m sorry you didn’t get a pony, nor understand economics. You are miserable and angry because that is who you are.
My unscientific pm poll at last count was 31-5 for the TA

Dude this is a 75-80% contract, it’s the industry, I guarantee if the market moves significantly higher we will absolutely keep step. If you are a midcon or Ecoast commuters, this job is never going to be great. If you are a west coast guy/gal, this is gonna be a great gig. People will come here, people will stay here, people will be very happy here. If you are part of the angry 30, you will never, ever be happy. This is done, this will pass, the MEC and NG worked there butt off and got us a great contract that will only move higher!

Well OTZ and Iamalaska were right. I urge everyone to take a breath go through the details. Write questions down, comments about the things you don’t like, including the parts you believe to be missing. Then after you digest it reach out to your reps and discuss it. Go to the road show and ask more questions. If you don’t like what they have to say vote no, if get your questions answered to your satisfaction vote yes. I don’t begrudge anyone for either side. Can’t wrap my head around which way this is headed, loud people screaming no, loud people screaming yes, then people like me that haven’t decided, need days to go through it and have my questions answered.
