I think the average line value was 87 for August. With the max line value allowed at 87 and the trailing line value at 83, my understanding is that's how far the schedule will be able to be pushed for each pilot. How does it matter how it's sorted? PBS can't make trips go away. It's still going to assign them, by whatever sorting method doesn't seem very important.

I really think that some kind of weight should be placed on cost of living. Particularly the cost of purchasing a home. SAN doesn't really help the dynamic that all of our bases are incredibly expensive places to live. Not so much if you're already here but it's very expensive if you are moving to one of our bases from almost anywhere else.
I also know commuters who say they'll never move back to CA unless a SAN base opens. So it might go senior.
It would help retention too. Skip the drive to LAX is worth something.

I disagree. Unfortunately you had a bad experience with an unorganized labor group and the latitude management had to tune up their solution. That won’t happen here. I have faith in our PBS working group. Regardless of our opinions change is on the horizon, might as well see that as a positive. 😎
F. Bidding Parameters

b. Trailing Line Value (TLV): The TLV is a twelve (12) Bid Period rolling average of the planned ALV for a Base Position. The TLV shall be between seventy-four hours (74:00) and eighty-three hours (83:00).

That's for SWA, not AS.
A base might be possible with single fleet.
But rumor has it that the union shot down SAN about 15 years ago because the senior SEA boyz didn't want to lose their long SAN overnights. Guess that's what happens when you live in SEA, hate the rain and hate your wife.
Different union today though.

The proposed SAN base was a laundry list of MOU’s blasting holes in every section of the contract. To that ALPA declined. Then the Temecula Cartel tried to get a Co-Terminal side letter modification to allow SAN. Their proposal was also a laundry list of MOU give aways…All this was post Contract 200…..We have never had good, long SAN layovers anyway…..

That’s one small part of LOA 22-09. You should include the paragraphs with vacation, gdo and stack height. Bottom line if your junior and get unstacked yes you can expect to be at the higher end of ALV and TLV. If your outside the stack and elect for more days off and/or highly productive trips you can be closer to MMG.
