I haven’t had any Captain tell me I should go else where. Of course they ask if I planned on staying. My reason for parting ways with AS was more than just pay rates. It’s far from a terrible place and if I wasn’t successful with my interview I would’ve been very content staying at AS for my entire career. However seniority progression, fleet variety(this does include WB), soft pay, schedule flexibility, bases, etc. helped make that decision. Some AS has control over some they don’t. The AS crews will be very hard to beat nothing but good things to say. I don’t know where Scott is getting the idea that it’s unique at AS on each flight the CA is gonna complain about the company or the contract or something. That would happen regardless of what company. I’m super impressed by the NC and continue to give them their flowers for fixing the short sighted language. They really have earned my respect and should’ve earned every pilots respect here. I think the issues with WOCL flying can be fixed next contract cycle. I hate hearing “massive growth!” Because we all know that’s disingenuous. Adding route frequency and replacing old airplanes is not exactly my idea with growth. I get it your honey is what we currently do and it’s a money maker for sure. Don’t continue to lie to the pilot group just say it how it is. Family doesn’t lie to family, right Scott?

I would be absolutely thrilled by $340. It almost makes up for the egregious failure to value our worth 10 months ago. And 6% behind the bigs come January 1st is better than 13%.

So if/when the 787's arrive, are they also brought on at market rates of $418 an hour?

Any merger rumor was speculation and guesswork. There has definitely been a lot of tire kicking coming out the back end of Covid. From the tea leaves I saw or heard about, my guess is this is what most likely went down with AS. We pursued B6, they ran to grab NK from F9. We talked with HA, UA came and talked to us and got DOJ’d. WN stoped by poked around, BOD made a bankruptcy bid for AS. AS is still patiently waiting to hear back on something civil with HA. I don’t know if it’s exact, but I think it’s really really close😉 The new chatter begins to suggest that maybe HA has become agreeable to a deal.
I heard from the right place, SK has said if the DOJ would ever lighten up, he would scoop AS up in a heartbeat.
