It is less disappointing if you call it what it is. A blended average market adjustment. We do not have a snap-up provision. That is a specific term that applies to the language that the major airlines have. Just like a signing bonus should not be called retro pay. I would be disappointed if Alaska Airlines applied something outside of our contractually 86% approved language. If our 86% approved language is met to the letter then we get that and if it is not then we get 318 as we should. And not a dime more

yup we will snap sep 1 of 24
if everyone has contracts (in my hypothetical southwest at 360 tfp conversion) we will snap to 353 in 2024
still behind DL UA AA but lucky we can start negations at the end of 2024 so not all hope is lost but still a bummer we will miss this years wish.com snap clause

That's on our fellow pilots, 82% of whom either welcomed the possibility of being paid less than their peers by a wider margin than Pre-CBA, or didn't read, and INTERPRET, the weasel-worded "market rate adjustment" language. If I was management, I'd give ALPA the finger on this... After all, who would I be (as hypothetical management) to contradict the will of 82% of pilots who voted for average at best, subject to terms and conditions?

You’ll kind of learn the same people in here complain about everything under the sun and have no actual solutions. “The 86%” is effectively the same as “the libs”. The same minority will pound their chests with complaints, never offer any solutions except for Monday morning quarterbacking, and then be the first to attack culture issues.

We might not have a contract for 7 months let alone 7 weeks.

I’ll be the first to congratulate you on your rainbows and unicorns. There is absolutely no way AS will give us a raise above the contractually required $318 on 9/1. 2 of the deals you site will not be ratified by then and one of those may get voted down. Alaskan management has never and will never give you a raise out of the goodness of their hearts. It really concerns me that we have pilots that really believe that AS will do the right thing.

I give the odds of an out-of-contract-bump 50/50.
