Alaska General Discussion

The TSA PAX headcount summary is averaging slightly higher than the 2019 pre-Covid numbers. It is at an all time record high. The constraints are not PAX wishing to travel. It is the number of pilots and ability of the airplane manufacturers trying to meet the order demand.

Alaska has more then kicked the tires at HA… HA went with Amazon, AS decided HA really gave them nothing but a giant hangover. SK would love to buy AS, DOJ will not sign off on it, it’s understood it will take a Republican Whitehouse to get that deal done. AAL😂 really, they are definitely not buying AS.
AS is Actively in negotiations for 787’s… delivery early 2025! Peace out

OTZ, Many thanks for your quick reply. Glad to hear that Alaska has finally decided to enter the international market. I look forward to seeing the 787’s on property in early 2025!

As a long time listener, first time caller I can’t sit be the radio waiting for this question to be asked. I wonder if this pilot group is truly unhappy and negative or if this is a case where the loud minority have a place to air their opinions to the world? As someone who’s interested in working for Alaska, I cannot get a good idea of the type of people who fly here. Is this a case of a pilot group complaining because they can, or is this a bigger cultural issue where negatively runs throughout the culture? I read negativity in other airlines’ forums but they seemed to be based on their on going negotiations.
Why is Alaska the place you hang your hat? Any and all specifics are greatly appreciated. Ramble complete.

He never said they would fly internationally. SEA - PDX every hour is what the 787s will do.

Its the same as it is anywhere dude. You got some chill bros and some less chill bros who like to ***** about everything. Honestly 99% of the people I fly with are cool and pretty content with there job.
Don’t come on here expecting to hear anything other than complaining.

I’m sure Southwest is suffering with passenger loads to Hawaii without TVs too. UAL is taking all Hawaii traffic because passengers need TVs in their seat back because nobody has their own PED.

you want to work for Alaska as what? A pilot? If you are a pilot how have you not figured out that pilots will complain about everything under sun. They will complain about the sun. When the issue they are complaining about is resolved they will move on the next issue.

Does it look likely that 2 of the 3 will sign: AA, SW, and UA?
I thought the no crowd said those contracts were imminent? How can they be stuck at $285-295 in these crazy times? The chances of going from 306 to only 318 on Sept 1 look fairly high...
