Alaska General Discussion

I left Alaska, but your childish behavior is embarrassing.
Alaska knows what they are doing. I may have left, but this airline is by far the best in the USA. If they deliver what they do domestically and expand it to the international (asia/europe) markets, most majors would lose. There's a reason they reap the margins they do. Management is doing really well with brand association. Airbus retirements are one thing, it shows you never studied financials. A B787 can carry twice the load of a A321 thus making it more efficient....

Definitely ends with the shareholders. Well said.
As far as “heavy’s” coming to Alaska. There’s a reason we codeshare so much. Which also needs to be addressed in the next contract.

Business degree from an Ivy League school. Been at Alaska 20 + years. I think I know a thing or two about business and this company. Thanks for explaining a 787 can carry twice the load of a 321. I was always curious as to why it was so much bigger 🤣

Alaska doesn’t have the global customer base it needs for long haul and one world won’t do it. Do you really think AA wants alaska to have 787s? No disrespect to anyone there but it ain’t happening. Especially with OTZ’s 2025 timeline.
A little internet research will show Boeing’s 787 delivery schedule and with the delays a new order now won’t happen in two years. Don’t forget the spin up of training pilots, mechanics, ground staff and the associated parts etc. You have to love the OTZ fantasy grenade he throws before he disappears offline waiting for small tidbit of “i told you so” before he comes back.

More like 200 pilots to transition. Management has quietly built a pause in the growth plan for this fall, as they assess the economy and seat demand. I would anticipate significant pilot hiring Q1 2124. That would mean lots of calls going out this fall, class dates in early 2024.
Unless people change their bids, there will be a significant number of displacements out of LAX. Right now there is really only a shift in flying, most near term growth is capacity and not airframes. Almost all of the growth appears to be heading to SFO.
