I understand operationally, sometimes stuff hits the fan, and the company needs the latitude to recover, but in principle, and practice, DAYS OFF should be sacrosanct, and Line Holders should not find themselves being regularly worked into their DAYS OFF.
The choice is an easy one for me.

Because you seemingly non-stop complain about your current employer, have a chip on your shoulder about the Virgin deal, and can’t let go of your previous employer’s who’s management ran it into the ground, shut the doors and furloughed everyone….but ya Alaska is the bad one…🙄

That’s the thing you don’t seem to understand, experiences are personal to you….and only you. It’s a completely moot point to try and expel some great point about a now defunct airline you used to work for and how much you liked it, in fact it’s laughable. It clearly stokes your ego to bash your current employer, and that’s fine whatever floats your boat. My point was, just think about those that have to sit in close proximity to you and hear all that for hours on end….

You are debating withe the next generation(not age related) that will continue to build on and nurture the Alaska Pilot discount. I feel the same as you but have been fighting it here for almost 25 years..:Very narrow view point they have…Comes from flying one airplane in 1 time zone for a career

more than all of us….
I’m not going to mention how many airlines I’ve worked for in the past, as I don’t really care and probably no one else does either. In fact maybe we even worked at some of the same in the past? However, to say that they ALL had better QOL than Alaska in all aspects is laughable, and clearly indicates the chip on your shoulder. In addition if you hate it here and complain so much but don’t want to leave, how come you’ve never joined any ALPA committees to try and change things then?? Ah I forgot, much easier to just come on APC and complain.

I think at this point >50% of the pilot group have multiple airlines, types, and time zones under their belt.
