You do realize a Delta snap up this Sept would have been lower than our "snap average"?

Yea? You would have thrown all of this away for retro pay?

Agreed! But we came from way behind and fixed some big stuff. We can fine tune it next time when we're not starting near the pole position and not from the parking lot. And we might get an early crack at it, with a JCBA.

That depends on where you are relative to to the other unions, and industry timing. I think average did the trick this last time... we couldn't go up to bat first AND expect to somehow do better than DL without knowing what DL would actually get.

I said start. So I'll go on:

Reserve:

We gave up 5 days off in a row on reserve. So now you have to trade for 5 days off. Reserves can be unstacked to any seniority so you can't bid for any weekend days off if you do it ruins your chance to get 5 days off in a row. It took me 3 weeks of attempts to trade all of July and August to get more than 3 days off in a row. Compared to the HA system this is horrible if you have an interest in life other than working.

RAP+3 is now gone. So you can be on reserve for 9 hours and get called out for a DH to BOS. It's legal per 117 and the contract. Probably an 18 hour day by the time you have your first rest opportunity. This is a big one to fix before we start operating aircraft bigger than a guppy.

No time specified for call outs or attempts to call before being assigned a PNC. I'm sure you saw the latest email from a base CP. I was assigned a PNC in under 10 minutes and called back in under 10 minutes. Something is wrong here and if CS doesn't call you more than once and assigns a PNC in less than 10 minutes, we need to protect our pilots with some kind of guidelines. Based on my personal experience those pilots likely did nothing wrong other than stay in the shower for too long. This isn't the hunger games and I can't always be expected to not miss a single call in 18 days for 12 hours a day.

If we're talking about an true snap, our pay would have "snapped up" to $360/hr back on Jan 1st. So a $20/hr increase over the last 8 mos. vs. beating them by $1 for 4 mos. A true snap is definitely the way to go.

Even if you get unstacked, you should still be able to bid and hold a 5 day off stretch. Unstacking is usually weekends only. So there’s no reason why you couldn’t have one stretch of M-F off, as you work weekends (have reserve Fri-Sun, and Sat-Mon).

You must have screwed up your bid. Send a DART to the PBS group.

Don’t Table A and B still come into play? I would have to see an example of before and after new contract to see what you mean.

DH isn’t FDP so you could legally DH for 24+ hours straight. His example would be an easy fatigue call and I doubt it’s actually happening in practice. Anyone who excepts that assignment is an idiot.

Only unstacking on weekends for now. There is no contractual limit to unstacking reserves.

I could have very well screwed up my bid. Multiple darts and advice followed before the bid. I'm doing a post bid follow up to see how to prevent it in the future.

I'll make an exception to that

Part of a strong contract is not making individual pilots call out fatigued because CS is playing by the rules or in this case lack thereof.

Spending negotaiting capital to reinforce stuff that's clearly protected by the FAR's is very low on my priority list.
