I’m sure you’re just being smart but I will be kind and answer. I’m almost positive right now we downgrade, I do think the union could get creative and save it again though. The more Captain positions the better for all of us if this merger goes through. SFO? 60/40… that’s anything but certain. I definitely could see SFO at 150 CAs and 130 FOs by the first of next year and yes I could see it closed. I would guess a slow death would be a more likely scenario though. SFO has been problematic and seems will continue to be for the foreseeable future, rebalancing is needed, I told them rip off the bandaid. I think PBS right now has them wanting fewer bases, if a base goes it will 100 percent be SFO! For those hoping for SAN, I think PBS may have killed it.
🤣🤣 SFO has been problematic because they have some FO vacancies? The routes are profitable and the base is doing just fine. Again, you don’t invest millions into moving terminals and building out all of our required infrastructure, just to close it. LAX is darn near double the cost to do anything we can do in SFO.
You just want it to close because SFO pilots don’t put up with your garbage to boost your ego.

Since you have made this claim:
Exactly zero of the folks that have CJOs ( who you said were sent an email stating that hiring has stopped) have made any mention of this on any of the UA threads.
There has been no change on any of the internal UA information pages about up coming classes being cancelled ( all classes July 23rd and beyond are still listed without any changes for the remainder of the year)
Today a Crew Resources update was issued from the Manager of Manpower Planning and no mention was made about any decrease in hiring (in fact the opposite was mentioned)
Additionally a new Vacancy bid was issued today with 30 787 Captain bids, 70 737 Captain bids, 25 A320 Captain bids, 270 737 FO bids, and 30 A320 FO bids.
So, based on all available evidence presented thus far, it seems whoever told UA is done hiring for the year, needs to clue in UA management so they can update everything they are telling us.

Not saying somebody didn't tell you this, but to this point you have not shown anything that supports your claim.

I asked somebody with VP in his job title TODAY about SFO closing and he laughed and said that hasn't even been discussed. But that won't stop OTZ from spreading BS.
