Absolutely! Past MECs have felt the need to “sell” it to us. Here is to hoping this round will be different. Let the TA stand on it’s own merits.

I thought the MEC speaks for me?
”Well that’s for company matters!”
Isn’t a contract negotiation the single biggest “company matter” we’ve had for the past 3 years?
The reality is, the MEC took your input and used that to negotiate on your behalf at the table and they spoke for you. This upcoming TA is a product of that speaking for you. The TA we get “should” be the one we asked for.
In any other time, I’d say the company would want a TA that passes 50%+1. But seeing how they handled Horizon, I’m reserved to say it but it does seem like the company wants a TA that they know will pass so they can put this all behind and move forward in this new era of “pilot shortage.”

If we're only here to rubberstamp what the MEC presents, then why even put it to a member vote? We gave the MEC our full support during negotiations. Now it's report card time.
The MEC is the representative of the pilots. Not viceversa. Now we get to see how closely they followed our instructions and vote accordingly.

Voting is only a formality then? Your ideology is scary sometimes.
This is circular nonsense. The idea of "trust but verify" is so over your head, that I struggle to even talk to it about it with you. The concept is lost on you.
Or you're feigning this sort of hyperbolic ignorance to back up your position that the contract must pass no matter what.
We all know that you have zero expectations. Hard to be disappointed when you have none.
Also, the point of being "surprised" is that you didn't see it coming.
What was the alternative? Not support them? You make it sound like it's this entity that you let speak on your behalf, but you don't really know what it's doing. They took input from 3000 pilots and using polling over the years, input from LEC, etc, formed an agreement they think will be acceptable to a large part of this pilot group. Right? I'm just getting feelings of doubt here. And if we doubt them, then can you blame the company every time they reach out to you directly to you via those emails, because of this belief that they perhaps aren't speaking for you?

Even with something as simple as this, you have to try to argue and "be right". To parlay off your other posts, surprise surprise, we aren't entirely a republic here with this group of pilots. Sure, we elect members to represent us. I'm assuming you get that right? Yes, they "speak" for us. But in the end, each pilot has a vote on the final "Constitution" if you will that we will live by.
What a radical concept because I would hate for the smaller bases to have, say a 2x vote impact, and possibly be stuck with living under the will of those pilots in the larger bases
