“Inner” island is just not the right word, that’s why. You’d think a pilot would understand the need for the right words at the right time.

Last brief I saw showed 84% (HA) to 34% (SWA). And that is with SWA low balling the prices even...they keep pushing $39 fares to try to fill seats at a loss and are still getting 34% LFs, they charge $220+ for similar distances (e.g. DAL-AUS) in the mainland, it was an attempt to put HA out of business in their backbone, they poached the COO and went after it and if they had been succesful they would have jacked up prices to the same they charge for similar leg lengths on the mainland and ****ed off all the Hawaiians in the end. Funny that it is one of the factors that pressurized the situation that led to the merger of AS and HA so I think it backfired on SWA in that regard, they just made a larger / stronger company in the end instead of putting HA out of business.
