The point of the comment was to infer that being junior at any airline in any seat sucks. Especially when you’re going to be hired on at the back end of a hiring wave. Harping on people to leave one airline to go be junior somewhere else, even if it is at the big 3, means that the grass isn’t always greener.

I hope people stay. As much as I hope we can get away from the un realistic expectations that it seems nearly everyone has around PBS. I think that red eye override pay would have helped a lot with the attrition dynamic. We are all about to find out what unstacked means to the bottom 50% of the pilot group. I'm quite certain that many won't like the outcome.

Not sure how this new system is really going to help me, other than saving me time not having to go line by line through the bid packet.

I’ll be about 30% in base give or take, by the time all this is implemented, and I think the new system is still going to limit my ability to build my schedule and my flexibility.

Nicely stated. Unfortunately you will get nothing but derision and and name calling from the other side. I just shake my head when the “If you don’t like it, leave” argument comes out. I’m a 13 year Captain and I have less than 5 years left. I don’t like it and I’m not going anywhere. Now I’ll get the Eagle calling me the angry 30. Not true. I’ve just been at 4-5 airlines prior that we’re WAY better than the present one so I have something to compare it to. I have not been at Alaska for 35 years as my only major airline job. Getting abused and having battered wife/Stockholm syndrome.

Ironically, Delta didn't want to "take over" SEA, they wanted to build an international (to Asia) hub there, and in fact offered AK to be the main supplier of dedicated feed, when AK said, no way, Jose, we dance with ALL international carriers and will not be a kept airline, Delta had no choice but to build their own feed.

Others have said it including Delta themselves, they are not competing with Alaska Airlines in SEA or anywhere. West coast based uber-regional with onesies to the east. Major national and international carrier….Dont get all northwesty on me. Happy where I am at the uber regional the last 24 or so years…but we are the little guys
