Our forum is hilarious. Because there’s literally no significant change to speak of (Here it’s a HUGE deal when we announce SAN - ATL) and as soon as we make a move to expand, that usually also means we shrink somewhere else, there’s nothin left to talk about except rumors whether we’ll merge, the ongoing disputes between some about who’s better, former VXrs or legacy Alaska pilots, and are we a stepping stone or destination airline for a career…. all of which are completely subjective discussions… which awesome for everyone that loves to get on here and “yeh yeh” at each other, because they’ll never agree and round and round they go.
If you want stability and a good package but, very little change or growth…. and don’t mind commuting or living in one of our bases…come to Alaska. If you want to be with an Alpha carrier that goes in the offensive to grow and compete, along with all the base/equipment/schedule options as well as possible less stability that might come with that… we’re probably a stepping stone at best.
Carry on. 😂

“Ex AAL, TWA, Delta, UAL, America West” 😂😂😂…. Really, all of those would have gone back to their previous seniority lists. Remember how much better the big 3 are. And no you really can never resend your seniority, chief pilots take those letters and put them in the shredder, they know people are just trying to survive the furlough. So all of that is just another lie!
That leaves ATA, Aloha, Airborne, DHL, Nonscheduled military charter🤭, you forgot Midwest😂. So your career sucks but that experience makes you a joy to fly with. ANYTIME SOMEONE TELLS ME THEY ARE LAID BACK IN THE COCKPIT, I want to run. Everyone knows if someone is telling you they are super chill or laid back it is 💯 % the opposite. “So varied”, meaning they held some of the crappiest jobs in aviation, and their careers have been a total disaster, then you are fun, cool, and super chill? 😂😂😂 Yup, that sounds like the honest truth to me, that definitely all adds up… You forget, I sat through sim sessions with some of these very same guys🤦🏼🤦🏼🤦🏼. These are the exact lies that are told here. All 💯 % pure fabrication. You can’t make this stuff up… you should be taking a pee test right now!

We need to conduct a study. How much recruitment is deterred by "the Angry 30" keeping it real vs. OTZEagle's toxicity?
If I were to guess, OTZ wins by a country mile. I can imagine most read his arrogant attacks on others and then run to hit the delete application button.

How many of your fellow coworkers do you want to sh*t on today?

Come on Man… You really believe that? New hires come here for all kinds of reasons, none are influenced by APC. They leave because they think they found something better, for some it is, for others not so much. The pilot group would be a reason all of them stay or a reason to regret their departure. X- Virgin, L-Alaska it’s all the same… awesome, awesome people… save the “thirty”, but nothing could ever fix that group. They are loud, angry, and miserable… sadly all are on here.
But go ahead OTZ, flame on. Another missed staffing target means that they'll have to sweeten the pot again.

This is a good company. It pays well, and if you can make it work for you/your career/your family it’s gonna be a pretty dang good career. And, maybe you’re a great check airman or instructor or whatever…. and, ok… so SOME people’s entitlement or whatever is offensive, but, even to guys like me who like it at Alaska, YOUR demeanor is no less offensive. You’re the opposite side of the same coin.

Dude… I wasn’t COMPLAINING… I was just saying how it IS. I’m very happy here, and plan on riding this mule right into the barn. But, as an APC hammer looking for the perpetual nail, you see expressed differences in Alaska and brand X as “poor me”. Hell ya just told a Delta guy, that used to work here, who simply pointed out the difference in what he’s experiencing now vs what he experienced here, he’s wrong. He’s basing HIS comments on experiencing BOTH… and YOUR comments are based on “I’ve gotta Delta buddy/neighbor….” Your recent posts have literally only been about life at Alaska if you’re based in SEA…. which is no surprise because everyone that works for Alaska OUTSIDE of SEA, EVEN IF THEY LIKE IT HERE… like me, realizes, that SEA is an island unto itself. The world anywhere west of the Cascades is this exotic place to transport PNW’rs to and from.

And this is an Alaska thread, so posting about Alaska Airlines seems, I don’t know maybe appropriate? Living in Seattle and working for Alaska, probably germane.

I'm not talking about those who come and go. I'm talking about those who never accepted in the first place. They read your toxic BS and back away slowly, never to apply.
But go ahead OTZ, flame on. Another missed staffing target means that they'll have to sweeten the pot again.
