Why isn’t your girlfriend upgrading? Is it tax implications? I heard Delta 737 captains make close to $700k/yr with green slips and 19 days off a month.

Could you stop your d.ck measuring contest? It’s childish and brings no perspective to the new hires.
Like zero people believe that statement… not even you. “Varied backgrounds” are you kidding me? Honesty, you should be pulled off line immediately and drug tested. 🤦🏼🤦🏼🤦🏼

Our forum is hilarious. Because there’s literally no significant change to speak of (Here it’s a HUGE deal when we announce SAN - ATL) and as soon as we make a move to expand, that usually also means we shrink somewhere else, there’s nothin left to talk about except rumors whether we’ll merge, the ongoing disputes between some about who’s better, former VXrs or legacy Alaska pilots, and are we a stepping stone or destination airline for a career…. all of which are completely subjective discussions… which awesome for everyone that loves to get on here and “yeh yeh” at each other, because they’ll never agree and round and round they go.

If you want stability and a good package but, very little change or growth…. and don’t mind commuting or living in one of our bases…come to Alaska. If you want to be with an Alpha carrier that goes in the offensive to grow and compete, along with all the base/equipment/schedule options as well as possible less stability that might come with that… we’re probably a stepping stone at best.

Carry on. 😂

I enjoyed flying with the VXers. Never once did I fly with one that had a bad attitude with their current situation. Did they always say how much they missed VX? Of course. Did that make them insufferable for 2-4 days? Not even close. I hate the idea that they’re somehow the problem or that actual insult to the pilot group that “captains with negative attitudes” were causing people like me to leave. It was never the crews. The crews were the highlight.

I don’t think anyone’s claiming those things. Depending on what fleet depends on how fast you get off reserve in SEA. 73 is the most junior and largest fleet right now in SEA. The difference between DL and AS is DL reserve is significantly better then AS. The new reserve system hasn’t been introduced at AS so I’ll have to ask how much that improves things when that’s implemented. Reserve is to the point you see senior folks bid it during certain times of year. Something I never saw willingly at AS. The difference between trips at DL and AS are starch. Efficiency is the keyword and it’s not for everyone. AS schedule works great if you live in base and don’t mind being gone a few more days a month for easier flying/less legs. But with the lack of study soft pay you’re working more of those trips to credit triple digits. Nothing wrong with that if that’s your style. Everybody has their preferences. At DL it’s more when you’re at work you’re working but in return you’re getting more time at home. Great for commuters. Great for hard days off. Great for high credit.

Sept I have 16 day trips (by choice), 14 days off, home every night in own bed, 113+ hrs credit. Alaska sucks
Not Delta. And yes, with 2 dogs that we’d rather not board and her elderly mother living with us….. the time off is more much more important than her busting her ass to hit over 100 hours every month….more power to her indeed…

113 credit eh? Good for you…:: pelosi clap::…..I’d rather work as little as possible while still enjoying a very comfortable lifestyle. But that’s me.

Ex American, TWA, Delta, United, US Air, America West, ATA, Aloha, Airborne express, DHL, Non-Sched cargo, Overseas, Military , Regionals consisting of folks that grew up outside PNW and Alaska.
Versus ex-Horizon, Skywest or McChord ?

So yes. Varied . With a wider perspective on the airline industry. Just a fact.

WOW, this is one “varied background” you got there but you may want to explore why you can’t hold on to a job for long😳🤣🤪

“Ex AAL, TWA, Delta, UAL, America West” 😂😂😂…. Really, all of those would have gone back to their previous seniority lists. Remember how much better the big 3 are. And no you really can never resend your seniority, chief pilots take those letters and put them in the shredder, they know people are just trying to survive the furlough. So all of that is just another lie!

That leaves ATA, Aloha, Airborne, DHL, Nonscheduled military charter🤭, you forgot Midwest😂. So your career sucks but that experience makes you a joy to fly with. ANYTIME SOMEONE TELLS ME THEY ARE LAID BACK IN THE COCKPIT, I want to run. Everyone knows if someone is telling you they are super chill or laid back it is 💯 % the opposite. “So varied”, meaning they held some of the crappiest jobs in aviation, and their careers have been a total disaster, then you are fun, cool, and super chill? 😂😂😂 Yup, that sounds like the honest truth to me, that definitely all adds up… You forget, I sat through sim sessions with some of these very same guys🤦🏼🤦🏼🤦🏼. These are the exact lies that are told here. All 💯 % pure fabrication. You can’t make this stuff up… you should be taking a pee test right now!

You sir are also full of crap. AS NB lines in SEA are significantly better than DAL. You know it, you have seen it. I love your redeye starts to your four and five day trips that head back east. Then you spend the next thrilling days going in and out of JFK and ATL, up and down the eastern seaboard. Lucky dogs… delightful! Our RSV will be on par this Spring! You know what I do, I do one leg to the islands, turns, or sims at home. Right know I guarantee this is what you know. “If you had stayed at Alaska, you would be making more money, with a better quality of life.” That’s the truth, you’re still on here trying to prove to yourself that you made the right decision, wondering what you’re missing out on. In the future you may be very happy with your decision, sometimes the future doesn’t come though.
Sometimes things happen that were unforeseen, like your original classmates flying 787 to London, Paris, and Honolulu. While you layover in Cleveland. Laugh now, probably won’t be as funny 5 years from right now!
