That's an interesting piece of information, how common is it for them to have that much time off? Is that only on the WB side? I know I should just post that question over on one of their threads but I really don't want to let my mind go there...

I would take it for what it’s worth….worthless internet dribble. I have multiple friends and friends kid’s that are new at the carriers mentioned and they are NOT getting that kind of time off…and if they do one month an an anomaly and not regular thing. Go ahead, ask over there, you get a ‘slightly’ more trustworthy answer at least…

I left for D about a year ago. SEA and LAX are slightly junior, NYC being by far the most junior. Narrowbody trips are somewhat similar except for the much bigger network allows for some increased creativity, good and bad. Bidding is based on an average line value which can move month to month and lines are contructed +/- 10. I was able to get 18 days off at 72 hours this month and 19 days off with 64 hours for next month. Not easily achievable in the summer. There is some additional pay time added with the new contract rules. Should be around 80 pay and 70 pay with no reroutes or pickups. When you dive into the green slips realm, things can get interesting, especially over the summer. My seat doesn't have great reserve coverage but the trading flexibility seems to work with trading into worse days. Capt seems better staffed at the moment. Pros and cons to both but my current schedule didn't seem to be achievable at Alaska. Hopefully PBS will help you all out in the future.

Yup, every pilot at AAL, DAL, and UAL have at least 18 days off🙄🙄🙄 I actually heard many have 32 days off😂

Remember how awesome that UPS contract was, remember how awesome their union was🤭🤭🤭
Alaska sucks, Alaska Sucks

How to announce to the whole world you are clueless. I have seen domestic NB schedules at AAL, DAL, UAL… Top end and layover wise, ours are significantly better. Days off are a push for the most part, 22-15… 16.5 off average with 84 and change credit🙄🙄🙄

Please tell me more about your one green slip a month. I green sleep almost every trip over here at little old Alaska… 20th check of September read 516k. Rarely less than 15 days off. I go to HI anytime I want, rarely for less than 519.75 an hour. My friends over at Delta dream of HNL layovers, they layover in NY, OH, NC. There is no 401k in that number. It’s a good time to be a pilot at any airline right now,. Alaska is no different, if you don’t have to fly a wide body and you live on the west coast, it a really good deal!

But we’re getting wide bodies…

You’re literally comparing yourself, a high longevity senior captain working the system, to a year one NB Delta pilot. Can’t pick on your equivalent WB Cap peers so you ridicule the year one DAL FO. Pathetic. Does As management know you’re hurting recruiting?

Please no, compare me to my contemporaries at Delta. Just don’t lie about what they are really making and how many days they have off. Most are lucky to score one green slip a month. Guess what most of the time it’s a garbage trip. People on here are delusional about what happens over at Delta, they just want to complain about Alaska. They want to wallow in their sorrow. There are some great things about Delta, there are some great things about Alaska, both have some things people don’t like. That’s the truth!

Every Delta pilot with my longevity wishes they had my retirement, most have less quality of life, many make the same as me, a few make more. I think it’s safe to say we are all doing well. I am confident many that left for DAL in less than 10 years will realize they are no better off… the only real winners would be those that maybe live east of Denver. Does delta pay for commuter pilot hotel’s?🤔

There you go bragging about something that a new hire will never have let alone anyone hired at AS after 2010. That pension is one of the reasons it took more than 15 years to get the gains we did get in this current contract. You really are a tool.
