I can’t cut and paste on my phone with this forum which is infuriating but you disparaged one of our pilots by saying he did something that would have upset you as an employer. Which you clearly aren’t.

I said I wouldn’t be happy as a business owner, but I wouldn’t disparage him. If I was a business owner, I would have shared a clear expectation/policy for the Covid vaccine.

I honestly dont know what the policy is here, other than getting $200, and the fact they made it a mandate or apply for religious/medical exemption. I got the Covid shots back in March and April as soon as it was available. Even as a junior bottom barrel schedule, I had a stretch of 3 days off in which I got the shot on day 1 and never had any interference with work. You do you but I got the shots ASAP to protect my family and inlaws, all of whom are older and half with multiple health issues that are prime for making a Covid infection worse.

I just hope you understand this is a “you do you” situation for us? You shouldn’t have a concern about your fellow union members life choices.

Did he violate the contract or not? That is all that should be discussed and even then that is someone else’s choice.

Life choice for what? Vaccines? I said I won’t go there, so I’ll still try to refrain.

Staffing levels aren’t and shouldn’t be the concern of a line pilot. Not enough pilots to cover that flying, chief pilots have to fly over a holiday, have to cancel flights? So be it, April 2019, 12.6%, are all the reminders I need.

P.S. don’t forget you contractually protected annual physical with your primary care doctor.
Yeah, they’re WILLFULLY and knowing violating the contract language on 14H…. They’ll lose, but, it doesn’t matter while we fly and grieve.

It isn't about one pilot sending ops into pandemonium, it's about this pilot either playing dumb, or is unfortunately actually dumb. You know darn well you can't fly for 48 hours, he gets it right before a reserve period starts. Hey, it's his middle finger to the company, great... But to think this wouldn't flag and go up the chain is so insane to me. We all know there are substances and medications that make you unfit to fly. We all know that the vaccine falls under this rule. This pilot could have punched out sick and said "my bad, I got the vaccine and this was the only available appointment, so I can't sit reserve"

This isn't the company's fault, this is 100% on the pilot. Now that he spread the company email, he is in real trouble.

😂😂😂😂 You wouldn’t happen to be one of our previous contract negotiators would you?

I’m not happy when they willingly violate the contract either…. But I don’t write an email to management telling them what awful sorry lazy individuals they are….. I suck it up, fly and grieve it. You SUSPECT they gamed the system. Yeah I do to. Can’t prove it. Neither can you or them. So to do what she did was at min unprofessional and quite possibly illegal.

There is no policy on how you use the sick time. Simply that you can use sick time for your annual physical. Don’t ask for the leave, take it and if asked later quote the section later

Agreed 💯 Unfortunately, what has been happening is that when a pilot gives them any kind of heads up they’re exercising 14H instead that being appreciative, they use their knowledge of that data to deny something they don’t have the authority to deny.

Management here creates their own HR problems and then whines when pilots mitigate their ineptitude within the bounds of the contract. It’s called adapting to their manager style because nothing is learned from the 2nd kick of a mule.
