Once again I’ll remind every Alaska pilot of another contractual right.
section 14.H
Annually, a pilot may use sick leave, up to one trip fro Bid Block holders or one contiguous reserve block for Reserve Pilots, for the purpose of submitting to a thorough clinical physical examination. A pilot taking such sick leave shall be paid in accordance with the provisions of this Section.

In case anyone doesn’t fully understand their contract and wants to use the contract to their fullest benefit. Also this does not include FAA medical exam.

Of course shy guy is siding with the company on this one.. probably wrote it down in his little notebook of good ways to anger the pilot group for when he finally gets an interview for management

And if you knowingly/willingly/voluntarily signed a contract that all your lawyers and approved of before handing it to that employee to be signed and they ABIDED BY THE CONTRACT YOU SIGNED, sure, you can choose to not be happy about it.

Right after you go pound sand and sit in the corner sucking your thumb like a petulant little man child that didn't get his way and was simply outplayed by the contract YOU SIGNED.

Maybe DAL guy like me that's out of his zip code can chime in, but I thought I heard that they were getting trips drooped to get vax'd, took the requisite 48 hours, THEN could pick up over any overlapping drop and get double time.

There’s a reason why pilots at Delta aren’t taken advantage of by management nearly as often as pilots at Alaska.

Pilots like you…

Bingo.. wish we had more guys like you and less like shy guy. Maybe we wouldn’t be talked down to for following the contract.. but alas as long as shy guy and the other Eskimo loyal defend the practices of a petulant spiteful management team we will continue to be taken advantage of at every turn

Thanks, but it just seems so "easy" and basic of what happened here. Granted, as mentioned, I'm out of my zip code and not intimately familiar with the nuances/intracacies of the situation at AS.

Yeah, see above. They play chess, we play checkers. So it's ALWAYS good to see when a pilot "wins" simply by playing by the rules, which takes me to.......

......a lessen learned long long ago. We don't get to write the rules, but we can learn to play by them to our benefit.

Because, at one time or another, we've all been screwed by the SAME RULES at one time or another.

Not sure they are loop holes. They are just things allowed by the contract. You just have to know about them and use it.

So why are you disparaging one of our pilots from doing just that?

Disparage? I said the pilot gamed the system. Where was “disparage?” Just called it for what it was, gaming the system. I didn’t say anything was violated contractually.

I think you’re reading into things that just weren’t said. I don’t see what you gain from being this angry and bitter all the time, it certainly can’t be healthy.
