That’s not true – she’s voluntarily given her name, picture, story to the media…she’s given TV interviews. That adds tremendous credibility to her story, in my view, because she knows that’s going to bring a lot of scrutiny…she’s not hiding behind her lawyer or hiding anonymously

OMG....that’s ludicrous. I hope I never get to the point where I’m afraid to hang in the bar with my FO/FAs or both, male or female. That’s part of the fun of this job.
Yeah, I paid for her beer. It’s kind of a tradition to pick up a round for your crew at SWA and pick up all of a probie’s drinks and/or dinner. So what? Are some of you seriously that paranoid about this?! That’s hilarious.

I know five guys who have gotten accused of this. Three didn't get fired due to lack of evidence, and two were fired. Of the three one had to pay $15,000 in legal fees and lost six months pay, and the other two were able to survive the company investigation. Two others got fired, and deserved it.
Its not just a matter of rolling on false charges. Its what it costs you in terms money, stress, and reputation. Its just not worth the risk of some crazy FA getting half crocked and coming after you.

I get it. The FA “profession” tends to attract a higher than average amount of “questionable” characters and as a high income earner I’ve got a target on my back by some of those that have alterior motives.

I go out with FA's all the time, have a great time, just don't take them back to my room.

You guys are unreal. A fellow PILOT makes this serious accusation and you twist it to rag on "questionable " and "crazy " females who are FAs. Pretty pathetic. You act like there aren't pilots who fit the same description.
I'm glad I don't work with "men" who are paranoid to socialize with me and my fellow crew members.

Unfortunately the environment out there has changed over the last 34 years. Any allegation, no matter how crazy and you can end up in the CPs office doing a carpet dance with HR hot on your heels. Men in this environment are essentially guilty until they prove themselves innocent. People like to make fun of Pence for refusing to go out with females unless his wife is present, but it makes for a bulletproof defense if anybody wants to throw an allegation his way.
I used to enjoy going out on overnights with the FAs and female coworkers but I do it rarely anymore. Too much at stake. And I quit consuming alcohol anytime when I am on a trip. Once again, too much at stake if someone sees you at a bar or wants to make an accusation.
It is a very puritanical environment out there and companies are more apt to get rid of a problem than give you a fair shake. Sucks but it is what it is.
As far as this case goes, keep in mind you are only getting one side of the story at this point from her attorneys, who are trying to get a bunch of money. She may be telling the truth, but certain aspects of her story bear suspicion, particularly relating to the circumstances of how she became intoxicated.

I try to close out and leave a few minutes before the witching hour. If others are starting on a roll, I'll leave and suggest they do the same. That way I'm not even a witness to excess or ill-timed consumption. Had a buddy who went through the wringer because he was present when his crew over-indulged and subsequently got caught by TSA. He drank in moderation, passed the breathaylzer, and everybody involved had stopped 8 prior (the limit at that company), but he still ended up with time off and discipline for being present when the others got carried away.

Why would the CA carry a rape drug with him just in case? Does he rape all kinds of females in his overnights? This was his unlucky day?? If the guy raped her why would he make the room look like a rape scene?? Wouldn’t he just tuck her into bed and say he took care of her she was so drunk? I don’t buy her story, sounds like her first time actually passing out due to being drunk. For anyone that’s had it happen, not knowing where you were, it’s very embarrassing especially when your underware is missing. But of course it never happens to distinguished career military female pilots...
