Don't know, just because a date rape drug is usually something, doesn't mean it is always that thing. There are variables. And she looks thin, probably doesn't weigh a lot, a drug could affect her more than other people.

Very unfortunate that she didn't go in immediately to get drug tested. I realize most people wouldn't at that point. But if this was my fo, I would have pressed for a rape kit, DNA collection, and immediate drug testing. She wouldn't have had to deal with this one alone. If you are clear thinking enough to get the evidence right away, much of this could have been avoided. But most people aren't.

That does not make logical sense. If she made this up to cover up drinking inside of 10 hours, then I think she would have been happy to quietly return to the line after Alaska finished their investigation. Sueing would only draw more attention.

I joke but seriously what was the intent behind this photo?
To make her look confident and proud to stand by her statements. It makes it harder to slut shame a person when you realize they look like a respectable member of society.

You nailed it! Case closed!! Give me a break

Have you ever been roofied/raped? If not, then you have absolutely no room to play detective.

No reason she’d press this if she was trying to cover something up. She believes something bad happened to her and she’s ****ed the company hasn’t take care of the situation. Good for her for standing up for what is right.

Ahhh. Glad to know the media are personal attorneys now.

There would be no reason to go public with something like this, unless one was extremely ****ed off at the company for doing nothing. That is not to avoid termination. To avoid that, you drop the case, keep quiet and let it pass. Particularly if they aren't threatening you with being fired in the first place.
Indeed. Apparently the FO has been on leave with pay for six months and has recently started back flying. I would not think this would be the usual disciplinary action against someone for a drinking infraction. I mean, six months off with pay while your seniority just goes up?

I think bad decisions were made all around, but I'm speaking to the majority on this discussion coming down on her. So yeah. Both were wrong, lets $TFU and let the courts decide.

Someone needs to be a voice of reason here.
Serving her country has NOTHING to do with this case I’m sorry to say. She may be “distinguished” but those that know the Captain also think of him as a stand-up guy.

As for him making a bad decision when going out drinking that night......are you serious? Do you not go for dinner and drinks on your overnights?

I went to catch last call with my female FO last night. Was that a bad decision on my part?

I agree about the $TFU part, but you’re not practicing what you’re preaching here.

This is a very serious incident, regardless of which side you choose. We as airline professionals should be above this, and not play the court of public opinion. And most of the comments on this thread are very troubling. I have daughters her age and I hate to think of the wolf pack they face in this world on a daily basis, where a woman alleges rape and gets torn apart on the internet and slut shamed. As a veteran pilot, I feel for a Captain with a clean record who makes a bad decision and faces the end of his career or even prison. This is bad all around.

I vote the mods close this thread. It's been beat to death. Let the courts deal with it, not pseudo experts hiding behind screen names. Uphold your profession.

What was the “Spirit debacle”?

His bad decision wasn’t going out. It was cheating on his wife or possibly even rape.

You’re joking right? So you think her entire story lacks credibility? Because something...

I also have a theory. Absent any other evidence, I believe there was a third Captain on a grassy knoll outside the hotel who as a jr Virgin Captain saw an opportunity to move up the seniority list and sow discord amongst the corporation that moved his cheese through the SLI so he decided to roofie the FO.

Give me a break...
