Hey, come on everyone. Read the TOS... NO POLITICS! Fighting over politics is beneath this place. APC is supposed to be a respectful place for professionals to discuss aviation. Now let's continue talking about how a major airline failed to properly handle an accusation of rape from one of its own employees

There is a very strong “it’s probably her own fault” smell around here.
He didn’t do it for the first time and he got busted.

These people wont listen to reason...they live in a bubble. Until the hotel tape comes out is just an accusation. Once again, a 39yr old combat vet was afraid to tell anyone in real authority about this event. She still hasnt told the police. She waited 2 days to tell anyone. Unlike the unseen hotel video those are THE FACTS

In any crime there is an accused and an accuser. If you support the claims of one you are by extension questioning the veracity of the other's story -- and their character.
Rape cases are no different.
In any case, the court of APC is obviously now in session.
Details, please.

I doubt that all, or even most, of the facts will come out in this incident, but if they do I can’t wait to revisit this thread.
I don’t think there is anyway this goes to trial. AK will settle and basically buy her out of her career rather than risk an embarrassing public trial. In the end the CA might have a libel/slander defamation suit agains the FO.
This would me much different if they hadn’t been drinking when they weren’t suppose to. Lucky they didn’t show up the next morning to fly. The FA that reported to the FODO might have saved their careers and kept them out of jail.

Looks like a typical case of crews going out and getting **** faced. Then while both are in an intoxicated state, one pushes themselves on the other and the next day somebody files a harassment complaint. Company investigates, finds out there was drinking going on inside the legal limits, and everyone involved gets canned, including the person who filed the harassment complaint.
The only twists here were the FA calling them in to the company, the Captain being smart enough to admit they weren't fit for duty, and the FOs interesting way of trying to avoid discipline in a drug/alcohol investigation. From the article, its seems like they were both smashed, so maybe the Captain should claim he was drugged too.
Will be interesting to see if this ever gets to court, but I bet it won't because I guarantee you company counsel interviewed witnesses in the bar and they have a good idea how much they both were drinking, and her attorneys won't want that getting any daylight.
Sounds like both of them should be in serious trouble for an alcohol violation, and if this Captain assaulted her then she needs to file a criminal and civil case against him as well as Alaska. The fact that she hasn't done that is very curious.

Is there any credible info that they were drinking inside the cutoff?
The DO pulling them off the flight under the circumstances doesn't mean much.
