I’m pretty sure this website is a big part of your identity. The only place you can vent and know someone will listen to you. Sucks to be that angry and non constructive. Best of luck on your job search!

The funny thing is OCCP has only spoke the truth. Those who disagree are the ones who got Alaska pilots in this pathetic position in the first place. Time for you people to pull your heads out of your own back sides and stand up for yourselves!

Time for you people to pull your heads out of your backsides and quit lumping every Alaska pilot as a loser and company man. Not all of us are yes men. It would be awesome to see every angry, fed up junior VX or organic Alaska pilot do something constructive and quit for better pastures. That would hurt management and force them to make changes. In the nearly two decades I’ve been here that is the ONLY way to get a rise out of our corporate side.
I disagree with OCCP’s negative venting and his take on this “Entire” pilot group. Hit up your Virgin buddy Branson for a job. He is hip, cool and promises awesome things. Quit complaining cause you won’t find that here....for a while.

Did I say he didn’t? Maybe take that anger with with his current employer and channel it to something useful rather than ripping on entire work groups for the current state of affairs. Yes, it is up to us current pilots to fix it. But quit blaming us for the things our long retired pilots made deals on. Kinda like blaming every modern day white man for the wrongs done to the Native Americans.

Our top pay (Spirit) DOS +4 pay is $262.00 or something like that, I think thats only barely slightly above Alaskas and you guys will no doubt be negotiating by then (if not already working under a JCBA). The Junior CA rates are still poor. at DOS as a 6th year CA I will be at $204.00. Its a big jump from the $141 I'm at now but still too low. We still have the 4-days off which is nice but we can no longer drop RSV days. Lastly, the other biggest gripe for me is Retirement (currently 9% Match ) goes to a dc Which is great but starts at 11% and only scales up 1% a year until 15%. We did get Some good scope protections and a really good LTD but we'll see, we also are going to PBS but our Line bidding is garbage for those who cant hit conflict.

To touch on what Yeti said, if you want to get into management at this airline you have to start as a union rep.......truth. Our hard earned ALPA dues got us in our current state. Bring your concerns to the union pipe and it seems all you hear is “ya know we just can’t do or say that”, “we have a process that takes time with the company” or the best “maybe you should volunteer”. Then hear two reps bragging that they got pay protected multi day trip drops for a half day of union business.....classy. Sorry for my off topic rant. Show me the time off and money baby!

Those of us who chose the 13.5% DC after contract '09 are stuck with 13.5%. Just another FU from management and the arbitration panel.
