Hiring update: 7 interviewed today. Previous posts are spot on as far as expectations during the interview. Rumors include hiring to continue for the foreseeable future and into next year. Interviews today could be in class as soon as 26 Oct. 1.5% pay raise went into effect on the 1st so APC payscale is old. FO first year is over $27.
I know it's a hot issue - but they seemed very confident the contract with USAir/AA will be extended past 2015.
The question was asked about the fleet and there was no mention of any upcoming change from the crj200 fleet.

That being said good luck. Wisconsin is one of the better airlines in terms of Pilots, Contract and Pay. When I picking airlines back in the day they were one of top 3 on my list. Piedmont and ACA (Atlantic Coast Airlines) were the other two.

1.5% raise happens every Oct 1.
The interviewee is correct about the hiring...classes will march on into the next year.
Management has been consistent about the contract extension, but as we all know AWAC is privately held so they don't even share with their employees such critical negotiations. That being said there has been lots of announcements that don't include work for AWAC...the lifeboats are no fuller around here than typical attrition can carry.
My understanding is it s up to AWAC whether they want to take the extension (which I'm sure they will) but discussions about how that extension will work are on-going.

It's definitely the elephant in the room, most people aren't naive. There will be a mass exodus this time next year if things stay the same or get worse.

That is 100% false. AWAC's aircraft are last on the list to get paint which means the earliest they would see paint is the end of next summer. If they stay around the FFD is going to be cut in half and there are going to be financial penalties for the company based on the delays/cancellations they pile up. Right now all they need to do is complete the flight, no matter what the time frame, to get paid and we all know Doug and his boys are not at all pleased with the service AWAC is providing for the fee they are getting.
