Second this. One weirdo doesn’t represent us all. AWAC pilots are rooting for Expressjet.

AWI can't staff what they have right now, the last thing anyone should want is more flying, especially if it comes from a great company like XJT.

We definetly can't staff right now. Maybe management will finally raise our pay to get people to fly these planes.
I too have friends at xjt/asa getting royally bent over. Not a good way to treat a group of your employees.

We can staff just fine using junior mans as a day to day staffing tool. Completely pointless to bid and plan on an awarded schedule. You owe the company 30/31days a month. Why raise pay?

A little digging into the express carrier performance numbers on the United intranet will show that you are incorrect. They are hitting the wall with what junior manning can accomplish.

I've had turns cancelled due to lack of fo's again. Something I haven't experienced in several months. They're also getting weird about dropping pointless deadheads, because they're grasping at straws trying to keep people within distance for any open time that suddenly bites them. I think the bonus money is beginning to lose it's luster to attract the numbers they need as they bring the rest of the planes out of paint.

Management runs the company thread bare deliberately. Labor is expensive. Better to keep running the pilots ragged and pay 150 to 200% for JAs than actually create incentives to attract and retain new blood. In the past year we've been running classes fairly consistently and have achieved a net gain of about 70.
Speaking of incentives don't expect the company to offer pay raises either. The way they see it, they're paying far more for health insurance than any other carrier which balances out the higher pay rates elsewhere.
Welcome to the status quo. I don't foresee any big changes any time soon.

It's great that people are flocking to Endeavor over us now. We all know that we make more in the "soft pay" but we aren't the ones they need to convince. New hires see $ signs and go to the airlines that they perceived to pay more. We need to get people into a long conversation about contracts and bla bla to get them to understand the benefit. If only we actually recruited properly. We miss out on a lot of events, but by golly air shows are the way of the future!
Pretty soon everyone will hit those 10 juniors man and will be worthless by summer time.
