Oh look, another simple minded comment from someone who does not understand how things work. Of course there's only about 20ish FO lines left for PHL, same for CA's. There are guys who are nearly 15yr seniority sitting CA reserve in PHL. Just because there are only 20 FO lines left doesn't mean these guys aren't leaving.

Again FO's assumed they would get hired right away at another regional and that didn't follow through. Meanwhile they are being displaced. How hard is that to understand?

Or, alternate theory, the upgrade numbers may be slowing the trend of senior FO's making a lateral move to another regional. Would you rather be a captain here within 6-8 months or start training at PDT in March with a 6-8 month footprint and a 2-3 year upgrade? With the majors starting to hire in earnest next year the PIC time is probably more valuable than the flow for someone on the bubble.

Feel free to hit me with the "the 18-24 month upgrayedd is #FAKENEWS!" argument.

I'll show my math if you show yours.

Is Piedmont's upgrade time 2-3 years? I thought they were almost at Direct Entry Captain Level.

Lol , look at you, the airline oracle?!?

I tried to indulge you a little bit by pointing out that even if what you claim is true , only 20 lines left in PHL. I guess that struck a nerve.

Here’s an point you obviously can’t understand. Your whole argument relies on the fact that PHL people didn’t interview elsewhere until after the bonus was paid out. I’d debate that anyone with any airline experience ; who knew that their base, and apparently according to you , the only base they’d ever work at, was closing for the better part of a year would have either left already or had the wisdom to line up their class dates with the bonus pay out dates. Sorry , but to think that a bunch of 3-4 year pilots haven’t left yet because “they didn’t time their interviews right” just doesn’t play out.

If you’re gonna make pull things out of thin air, at least make something up that implies our pilot group is a bunch of morons.

Also, I think there is going to be an exodus, but not for your dumb reason. The flood gates are opening, and I haven’t flown with or talked to a captain that hasn’t had one foot out the door in a month.

I'm not making anything up. I guess some of our FO's must be lying according to you. At the same time there were a lot people thinking ORF was going to stay open because it's a MX base up until a month ago when that was obvious a year ago to others that it was closing.

Latest upgrade class at PDT has at least 4 guys from the March new hire class that had previous 121 time. Basically they got out on OE after the long training footprint then were upgraded.
