That's pretty much it. At home and off duty don't answer your phone. It's 200% pay. I think we get 10 a year before they can't get you anymore. I hadn't had any in years till this week. You get to pick a day in leu to make up for lost days off. Often times very little warning.
At home or on duty, doesn't matter. Don't answer your phone. Unless you are on reserve you are only obligated to return their phone call within a certain period of time. Other than that you are never obligated to answer your phone, even on reserve, once you are given a flight assignment you are not required to answer your phone. They can threaten you all they want and tell you whatever they want. Read the contract and fly it.
It is typically better for the jr pilots to take the pay and not the day in lieu because they will jr man you on your day in lieu next month and you will never make up the lost time off. Take the pay and if you are not notified make sure you call and or email crew scheduling and ask for you qualifying event notification.

Looking at the crew availability report on the website, I think we're getting close to adequately staffed on the FO side. I think some RSV might not even get a call in the next couple of days.

A pretty interesting announcement yesterday. 10 new upgrades from the realignment with more continuing every month going onward. Also with ORF closing, it seems they might open up a different outstation domicile at one of the maintenance bases, not sure how I feel about that.

A mke or atw base would be fantastic here. It would be a giant magnet for all the senior guys.
