If Awac was what is advertises, it wouldn't be a bad place to work. But now with 20 swap denials (every one), junior manning and extensions, I'd go to Endeavor or Republic if I was a newbie. Every week I come to work and I never know if I'm going home on my last day, after my last leg, it's insane. I consistently have 11-hour overnights and long days. I can't swap or drop for the life of me. It's regional hell and it's not fun by any means. Add to it, base closures, and very few bases to choose from. Yes, there are worse regionals, but I chose Awac for the contract, the pilot group and it's good reputation. A new contract is the only way to fix things, but I feel, as do others, it's just taking way too long to come about.

I can relate to the junior-manning though. That said, if request a day-in-lieu you have no net loss in time off.
As far as the contract goes, if Endevour passes their TA, other regionals will have follow suit, seeking a contract greater than, or equal to the compensation of Endevour. Simply put, each day that goes by without a new contract means more for us in the long term.

Junior manning question
I've been interested in AW as I'm plotting my way out of my current non-flying staff job. I see the topic of Junior Manning and thought I understood the implications but maybe someone could shade in some areas for me. Does this mean you come off a trip and instead of getting into your car/commuting flight home you're sent right back out? If that is indeed the case do you get 150% pay? How often can this be done to a guy and how much warning do you normally get?
Appreciate any information folks are willing to share.

That's pretty much it. At home and off duty don't answer your phone. It's 200% pay. I think we get 10 a year before they can't get you anymore. I hadn't had any in years till this week. You get to pick a day in leu to make up for lost days off. Often times very little warning.

Probably so. Who likes being to work longer and not get home when you expected? But there are a lot of jobs that have provisions for mandated (mando) work. I know a pilot got his 10 in by March. The more we can get staffed up the less this will happen. We are hiring more than we have in a long time. But it does take time to get people through. Wish it was all rosy and doesn't happen but it is reality.

I was looking forward to a long stretch of days off. I lost out on 3 of them. I have a life. So yeah big qol killer. I was none too pleased. The double pay is nice to a point, but eventually you just want to go home. As stated above as staffing is filled this problem will slowly go away. Not going to happen overnight unfortunately.
