Newhire checkrides are with your initial instructor in the left seat and the APD running the sim. This is so you don't have a partner that has a bad ride hinder your ride.

Thanks. Coming from GA and thinking going to 121 is a big step and exciting but i want to make sure i make it through training since i hear it is a fire hose and you need to stay ahead of the game.

Hear some reagionals instructor will even meet you at your hotel after class and really belp you out to make it through.

During initial you wil be paired with another FO most likely for the training. So yes, you will need to be familiar with the Captain flows, call-outs etc. We think it creates a more well-rounded pilot and you can be better equipped for effective CRM on the line. I can't speak for the Check rides but what was posted seems accurate since it's a type ride now.

Most training departments want the "challenges" read from the checklist, not recited from memory. The "responses" should not be from the checklist or memory, but from observing and reporting the status of each item. Instructors are especially upset when abnormal procedures (beyond the "immediate action" items) are attempted from memory.

You'll do fine. Do what you're told. Study what is at hand. Do not study ahead. Get plenty of sleep.
