It's not designed to bring in the best. It's designed to keep costs at the regionals down, as well as save a buck or two in recruiting.
It's also designed so AA will have a bunch of beat down tired ex-regional guys who are just happy to be at a legacy and not at an AAG feeder getting their contract violated every other day on property when Parker comes sniffing around for a scope grab in 2020.

Ding ding ding ding. We have a winner. As I've stated before--this flow just brings pussies from envoy, immature kids from PSA, and a few piedmont guys who can't fly a jet to a major without and vetting. I'm sure that will be a nice fermented mess in a few years. Enjoy!

You're wrong. Every other airline interviews ALL of their applicants. American is the only one that doesn't. During that interview your experience, merits, and well.. YOU.. are discussed and evaluated. All that stuff is skipped with a guaranteed no-interview flow.. Do you disagree?

I wonder if this same conversation was happening if it were the feeding of Delta flying to AIr Wisk, if Piñacolada was criticized the same way!!!!, ????
Going to Rangers's point, I think you r right, IMHO is an insult to many FO's, I , personally, have seen requests of some, if not all, flying under a pairing and it gets denied, it makes me understand screw scheduling is doing this to create their flexibility and abuse of reserve guys...!!!!
R guys having that frequent problem !!!!

And what is the union doing about it? Oh wait, we are alpa. So... nothing. We would have to change the provisions in our contract. And when is the next meeting for negotiations? Oh wait...

It very very simple, answer the following questions.
1) Did you apply to AA?
2) Were tou invited to complete the video interview?
3) Were you invited to come to DFW for the 2 days interview process?
4) Did you receive a conditional job offer from AA?
If you answered NO to any of the 4 questions above than you were not selected nor hired by AA.
