Details:
-$1500 bonus for signing the LOA, in Dec 15th paycheck
-Company discretion up to $40/HR first year pay. Cannot go back down, but can increment in steps.
-Minumum $5000 signing/recruiting bonus, anything above that at company's discretion
-Captain retention bonus: minimum $2000 May 15, 2017. $4000 October 15, 2017.
-FO retention bonus of minimum $3000/$5000 for those same dates
-Flagged trips at 200% in open time
-2x pay for extensions
-Per Diem $1.75
-Initial open time 1.5x for added flying
I personally think that the union gave the company too much control over pay. They could, for example, pay first year FOs more than senior FOs if they wanted via a signing bonus.
This also comes with a clause stating that the company must meet for bargaining by Q3 2017.

What a loss--why the hell would they sign this. They lost al bargaining power on many fronts. ITS CALLED GET A F---ing TA on a contract as a whole. Worthless....just like the last TA you guys voted down.
Unless of course the doors are closing in 14 months. Then at least guys can get little bump. But no way in hell would this deter me from leaving. Typical joke from toon town.

The company is fighting a two front war. On one side they're trying to get a contact with an airline for some flying. On the other they're trying to stop this mass exodus of pilots so they can continue to make profit with as many aircraft as possible.
Whatever they're bargaining for with other airlines clearly isn't to the liking of the owners, as if they had any news, that would be the best way of stopping pilots leaving. For them to come out with this retention is a last ditch effort to make as much money before 2/18.
A year ago I would have said I'm 75% sure we would get another contract for at least 3 years. Now I'm at about 15% that any deal will get done with American building up PSA, Piedmont, and Envoy.
The silver lining in this (if there is any) is current pilots get a nice (little) Christmas bonus, and anyone leaving can plan accordingly to get some cash to cover cost of living during training somewhere else.

You think this will make people want to stay? This is a reason to leave! Sub-par bonuses PLUS the union just gave up ALL negotiating power until we shutdown Feb '18. What a joke!

At some point, the pay/bonus should be enough to at least attract a few new hires and keep some from leaving just for the paycheck. I'm not sure how high they will have to go though.
