Ugh, I was just reading this thread and couldn't help but feel a wave of sadness. Sorry to hear about your base closure, guys.

I am sorry for a lot of things here at awac. I am sorry for those that will be displaced from lga and to those who are on the bottom of the list and will be on resv longer than for ever now. I am sorry that this will allow mngmt at awac to cover the flying a little easier now that lga is closing due to the increase in reserves they will now have. I too will now be dropped down to no longer holding a line and will be subject to being abused and jr manned every trip on resv. The only thing I can say is I hope everyone has their logbooks up to date, their resumes polished, and a clear understanding of the contract and what you need to to and what you must do.

Good luck to all.

Yes, indeed, many LCCs hiring thankfully, FWIW. We had an 3 year AWAC FO in the jumpseat last week who landed a job with Allegiant on the bus. There are opportunities out there if one has the time.

How many are leaving per month vs new hires starting class every month?

We are loosing more than we are hiring. 20 FO left vs possibly 3-5 hired?

I would expect downgrades with the coming realignment notice from LGA closing and total systemwide departures decreasing.

For a friend that's a recent new hire that hopes to stay for another six months to a year, has personal unique circumstances and doesn't want to leave right now. Do you think somone on the bottom can stay that timeframe given the current circumstances?

Thanks for the info and best of luck to all of you! Hope to fly with many of you at United someday soon!

Absolutely. We will still be here. He will just probably stay at the bottom, seniority wise. Good things could still happen, you never know.

Hope so too!
