As a junior CA at AWAC I am considering a lateral move to a WO. With the bonuses and immmediate upgrade I would make more my first year than I would here. Plus I would not be surprised if I were downgraded in the near future here at AWAC. Everyone has to make the best decision for themselves and their families.

You have training dept experience. Go to a place with an instant upgrade and work your way into the LCA cadre. Absolute best thing you can do for yourself IMO.

IIRC you need 500 or 1,000 hours as PIC to be a LCA at AWAC. Chances are you won't hit that before they start downgrading or furloughing.

I remember when Mesaba was first getting their CRJs, FOs left AWAC and went to Mesaba. They were made instant LCA because they actually had time in the plane. Great career move.

Great move. I know these people, really good people. They know how to make deals. Good deals, really good deals, deals that will make you upgrade so quick. So quick, i'm telling you folks. The. Quickest. Upgrades, and we know how to get them done.

Turn that thing on at 12,000 instead of starving the cabin of airflow when you pull the thrust levers to idle during descent and the 20 minute taxi. I think it would be different if we were getting bonuses and profit sharing checks, but we are not.
I agree. When I was there I felt the same friggin way, but CA ran the ship so up to them. I left and went to XOJET after being a 3 year FO with no upgrade in sight. Guess what? We do fuel savings too but the savings get passed to the crews on a quarterly basis, and we are just a lowly charter company, not a ✨regional airline with 50 years of service!!!✨ 😛

Staffing issues: The PHL ALB turn for which Crew Scheduling was tweeting in search of an FO was cancelled.

I am sad to see cancellations purely for staffing. Hopefully the company can do something to turn the situation around.

Maybe for the best. They obviously didn't care that their handling of the staffing issues would severely impact morale and attrition. Now that it is costing them (and AA) money and reputation, they might finally do something about it. Nothing changed at the other regionals until flights were getting cancelled and management couldn't collect their shiny performance bonuses
