Take it for what it's worth, but I talked to a MX guy who said word trickled down from a recent Appleton meeting that CD has approached American for a 15 year contract. Said the company is concerned about the excessive pilot attrition, and they are making an aggressive push to get something signed.
I can understand the pilot attrition part, but the 15 year contract seems excessive, unless that's what you start your bid at...
If I want any part of this rumor to be true, it's that this company begin to make aggressive steps to secure flying now, and not 2 weeks prior to contract-end

Except all the union emails and personal conversations I've had with them indicate they don't want a deal, are stalling for time, and there's nothing else they can give to us. If they wanted a deal then they should stop playing hard ball on this for once and realize we're not going to budge. Wishful thinking.

Based on AA now throwing money at its regionals to staff them, I don't see any reason why AA would want any further contract with us, especially not one for 15 years. It's convenient and great timing for AA to raise pay and get bodies in the door.
