Well this "End of Summer" announcement is about right...summer ends on Sept 21 with the Autumnal Equinox...however school and meteorological summer will have been over for some weeks.

I think there is a major misunderstanding. I talked to mp recently and he was speaking hypothetically. He was saying the timing for a big announcement would be right around fall. Hes not saying... there's going to be a big announcement. Just that if there was to be one, it would be in the fall.

I was talking with MP yesterday and he seems to think that we will hear something soon.
He also made mention of his time at Comair and how the culture was towards the end. He said things in ATW were very positive and AA has been up there quite a bit lately.
He also mentioned that the Airman Trainee program started this week and it will take 36 months to see a return on the investment.

Such a rediculous statement. Most I know will probably make more or the same in their second year at a Major/LCC than what they were making as a Captain at AWI. Six figures plus after that and some have profit sharing. This is all without the 5 leg days with a 10 hour overnight in GSP and the ability to drop/swap/trade to improve your QOL.

The facts on the line are that fo attrition is rapidly accelerating and our response is to send out recruitment spam emails. Give me a break. The upgrade time is currently increasing and will only trend further in that direction as aircraft continue to be parked to accommodate a shrinking pilot group.
As an fo i'd like to be given any scenario where running for the hills isn't my only option, I really would. My schedule and benefits, minus travel, are much better then they would be after moving laterally. But I can't come up with any plausible scenario where this turns out ok for people waiting to upgrade. Short of the fall anouncement, if it even exists, being a doh seniority merge with a WO, which the chances are about 0, we're never going to see the left seat.
