What's the upgrade time at AWAC right now? Last I heard it was like 3 years longer than there was a contract to provide lift for... Other regionals are hiring DECs and allowing people to bid CA right out of OE.

Interesting first post in 16 months. Are you management? Or just somebody desperate to upgrade?

I believe the last capt was hired in 1/12, or something close to that. So still a good long upgrade. I was hired in 11/13 and am around 65 away- how long it takes us to move through 65 pilots is anyone's guess. Captains are definitely getting thin, so an upgrade class should be in the near future. That being said, coming to AWAC right now seems like an odd choice. We still have a decent contract, and a lot of cool rumors though! Until more flying is announced, I wouldn't tell anyone to come here.

They haven't had any upgrades since March. I was told unless more CAs leave, they're not gonna have any upgrades

Also if you have too many FO's leave you'll find it had to have upgrades also.

This is the true issue. A good half of the resignations are junior FOs.

We saw this at Piedmont. Company couldn't pull FO's off the line to upgrade them because they didn't have enough. About the only option that helped was parking a few planes to catch up.

So FO's are just as valuable as Captain's leaving in terms of getting upgrade times down.

MP and my instructor during the MV, a couple weeks ago, said if most get through this last clas and get on line they will be running an upgrade class. God knows how long it will be before they run another one. I'll probably barely miss it on this one...
