Air Wisconsin

They're expanding terminals in CLT even after DP was quoted as saying, "I hope they're not doing that on account of AA". This industry is full of that... Hire until the day you furlough. Grow until you shrink. Etc...

LOL, they won't be expanding it for American. There will be a few hubs that will be reduced after this merger. A few will be expanded. That is a fact. With PHL having such a low originating amount of traffic it makes sense it would be the one you'd reduce.

The rumor I heard is that AA will buy AWAC.
Then they will merge AWAC and PSA. Same deal will happen between Envoy and PDT.
AWAC/PSA will operate CRJs = around 2,000 pilots
ENY/PDT will operate E-145s and 175s. = around 2100/2200 pilots
Two regionals, about the same size.

That said it won't happen. The owners make an incredible amount of money from ZW and I don't think they'd up and sell it unless they were given a monstrous offer. An offer that Parker will never make.

I'd love to watch some of our captains have to sit right seat to a mid 20's PSA captain.

It makes zero sense for American to buy Air Wisconsin. 20 737s could pick up the capacity if Air Wisconsin were to shut down. The regional flying would just get shifted around and mainline would start doing more of it as they have been for the last couple years. AA Mainline guys will tell you they are currently flying routes that they haven't flown in years that are former RJ routes. PSA is flying a lot of 900s on former 200 routes in CLT and mainline AA is flying airbus on former 900 routes. Mainline AA is flying a lot of routes that Republic was scheduled to do months ago but can't handle due to staffing.

I flew with someone that seems to think American is going to downsize PHL due to a very low originating traffic from it's airport. Talking about shutting down a whole Concourse and reducing some international flights and doing more focus on JFK.
There will be Hub shake ups after FOS is implemented.

As to the low amounts of O+D traffic, that's true, but PHL was built as a hub in the hub/spoke network. Out of all major hubs, DFW actually has the lowest % of O+D traffic.

Uber long term plan is build another A terminal, move mainline from B+C to the three A terminals, and the regionals to B+C.

Everything is speculation of course. But after FOS I think we all know a few bases will shrink while a few will grow. The bases structures won't be the same.
