I don't miss ORF at all. Period. Retarded ass schedules.
As for an announcement I was told the same by MP himself a couple weeks ago. I was told expect late Q3/early Q4. I do believe something is coming (positive announcement). They knew how badly the Delta deal went when they announced something that wasn't 100% legit so there's no way they are going to make that mistake again.

Our POI has said stuff in the past along the same vein and where are we now? With the same 70ish 50 seaters as we've had all along. Not saying we won't hear good news down the road, but as it's been said, don't believe anything until you're sitting in it and signing the release.

I have also heard that this is the first time that management has been backing a 'rumor' so thought is they are trying to string people along until after summer flying (with no actual announcement forthcoming).

Its a maintenance base, so tons of early shows (ridiculously early) and late finishes. Its very rare to start early and end early. Also since ORF is an out station they have tons of early departures to get the planes and crews into the system.

That makes sense. AWAC is one of the carriers that I have my eye on due to the ORF base.

Not a bad base. I enjoy it mostly, a lot of great, relaxed people are based there. Just the schedules suck but it's not impossible or a rare occurrence to get an start early:end early trip, just won't happen all month like hotbed bases but you can get a few trips here and there that are normal

Read between the lines folks, they don't want people leaving and will lie and concoct these stupid stories In a feeble attempt to prevent a mass exodus........ There are lots of greener pastures out there now with big bonuses for 121 experience and relatively fast upgrades. Not to mention the DEC jobs where you can make an easy $75K to start...... No strategic planning, no hiring incentives, old ratty aircraft, executive leadership bailing out, expensive contract, no upgrades, etc..... Fast Eddie and company are doing a real stellar job now aren't they?
