Air Wisconsin

While I haven't heard that rumor specifically it has been speculated that AAG will offer the remaining Envoy 700s to you fellas and an extended contract in exchange for concessions. It's also been speculated that AAG may buy AirWisc and merge you with PSA. Although I find that far less likely.
Concessions for old jets you have another thing coming.

Im sure as hell not going to be hating the world if I take it. Great company - Definitely more money than upgrading here, QOL and not commuting, but the fact is I dont WANT to leave! (that may sound retarded). Im sure as **** not the only one in this position (FO attrition numbers tell you that - excluding very JR FOs) and to be frank, its pretty sad that im dealing with it.
Big picture is if there is growth at AWAC you need every pilot you have. There are very very few entering this career due to the ATP rule. The fact they seem to care less as to hiring people is very telling to me. What else could you logically gather from this?
Honestly i would love your theory as to why they are doing nothing to attract anyone to come here.

What a guy with less than 1000 121 time to do at this point. It's like ride it out or find a new regional? I feel like JetBlue or even spirit isn't even gonna look me until I have 2500 and by the time that comes it will be a closing in on 2018. What do?

I would recommend to stay put, I don't think AWAC will go anywhere anytime soon. Not because the contract expires in 2018 means they won't extend it.

Look at how many fleet types AWAC has flown and how well it has adjusted to the market over the years. They faced tougher times before and managed to come out on top with a money making deals. The key is to fight for better pay and nothing less than what is being offered to us currently. Their recruitment video prides itself on providing an industry leading contract and QOL but this wasn't achieved through their kindness of their heart. It took this wise pilot group to make that happen. They know pilots will knock on the door if the pay is there. But they are running a business and like any other employer they will try and see what they can get away with during negotiations. I rather end up on the street than agree to work for less than what is being offered at the moment. This is my personal opinion. I think this is a good time to be a regional airline , the majors need the lift now more so than before. Passengers per mile is through the roof and increasing. The market will adjust on its own. The key is to be happy with your decision. If I end up on the street at least I know I made an educated investment and lost but it would have been on my own assessment and not that of others.

I was bashed by about 3-4 folks on here for predicting what might go down with AWAC. You guys know who you are and probably realize some of the stuff I said wasn't too far off base now was it?
That being said I say hang in there AWAC. Yes it's bad, you're a great pilot group that's riding a wave of the times and right now it's damn low for many contract carriers.
Piedmont was there also. Had one of the best contracts and had about 100 planes when we merged with ALG. Then we got beat down from about 100 aircraft to under 40. Like someone said it's hard when the gun is at your head and you got bills to pay and a family to support.
Right now management is probably trying to run off all the senior folks to cut cost. Right now you'll see planes going away. Bottom line is you'll take a beating but I think you'll come out of it.
Not sure how many of you feel, but maybe being bought by AA isn't too bad of a bad thing.
Good Luck!
