My thoughts are the following.
Either A. They annoumce something regarding the future, or B. They continue to ***** foot around the future resulting in enough attrition, that they risk not bring able to staff their 66 airplanes (assuming all 4 of 401-4 get parked).
Take your pick. The bottom line is EVERY, I mean EVERY regional (correct me if im wrong) has either of the following - BONUSES, COMMUTER HOTELS, A FUTURE WITH SOME SORT OF GROWTH AND FUTURE PAST THE NEXT 22 MONTHS.
It is incredibly telling to me how AWAC is the only regional left who, literally, seems to give zero ****s about hiring anyone. Last month the comp and the MEC met for negotiating. They accomplished virtuallly nothing. The comp isnt stupid. They know what is required, in this, market to attract people. I work here and ive seen the CA and FO Resignations the last 5-6 months vs. what they are hiring. Lets just say its sure as hell not enough to cover atttrition...
Bottom line is I have 3 weeks to either accept a nice Corp. flt job back home or leave AWAC less than 30 from upgrade...
To be 100% honest its really ****ing me off im in this position. I hope to christ something happens in the next 21 days. Ideally I dont want to leave AWAC, but i will say I wont be left with my dick in my hand and I certainly wont be starting over at anither regional. I refuse to be a part of the problem and start over (despit however marginal amount RJ pay has increased). I have 2000+ 121 time. I have more than chedked the 121 exp box. Sure it isnt TPIC, but that is a dying req by the quarter and year. Outside lf something retarded hapening 16,000+ are truly retiring in the next 6 years.

Im sure as hell not going to be hating the world if I take it. Great company - Definitely more money than upgrading here, QOL and not commuting, but the fact is I dont WANT to leave! (that may sound retarded). Im sure as **** not the only one in this position (FO attrition numbers tell you that - excluding very JR FOs) and to be frank, its pretty sad that im dealing with it.
Big picture is if there is growth at AWAC you need every pilot you have. There are very very few entering this career due to the ATP rule. The fact they seem to care less as to hiring people is very telling to me. What else could you logically gather from this?
Honestly i would love your theory as to why they are doing nothing to attract anyone to come here.

Just throwing this out there because its been on my mind for months because of AWACs lack of a real recruitment strategy.
And THIS is NOT a rumor just theoretical and my projection!
I think the plan is to place all of Envoys remaining 700s with AWAC along with keeping around 10 200s. With that plan AWAC needs to shrink slowly until 2017 to around 450-500 pilots. Either they will remain a contractor or be sold to American and become the next wholly owned carrier.
From recent announcements and business decisions it appears American wants a streamlined airframe distribution for its regional feed.
