Sounds like it's gonna be a train wreck rolling out. A PIF a couple weeks ago talked about even with the iPad on Dec 1st, you still needed to carry your Jepps as sole source until further advised. Correct me if I'm wrong though, but pretty sure I saw that.

I just flew with someone that knew a guy at RAH. RAH actually tested these out for Navtech for 6-12 months a couple years back. After the trial they promptly said hell no. He said they had lots of ASAPs.

Look I'm all for lightening up and moving forward with technology, but it's so frustrating a company that is not at all 'broke' are so god damn cheap with everything. At some point you have to say "we've made plenty now let's use some of this money and make things better" etc. How it's explained to me is this is not costing AWAC anything as we are going to be giving Navtech feedback etc as their only US carrier. Figures.

If they were hell bent on not paying Jepp, I wish they would have just used Foreflight. FF is awesome as hell and the government charts it uses are easier than Navtechs IMO.

I heard Mesa used them too with similar results. Violations and ASAP reports sky rocketed becuase the charts were all incorrect or had wrong information.

Just flew with someone yesterday who got the iPad early with the NavTech software. Was missing the Inital altitude for the ALB5 departure. Bad first impression.

I'll assume this Ipad has safari on it. Might as well just pull up FAA charts off of airnav, screen shot and put them into photos. Sounds like the typical spend $100 to save a nickel deal.

Asaps will be the only way to fix this.

Or...Or they could actually provide us with something that actually works, or fix it themselves

Or maybe their plan to keep attrition down going forward is to make sure we all get violated.
