Gotta love it when the hedge funds are running your airline, yikes.

They just talked about it on fox news. Apparently the United name would remain.

Who knows.

Could be not so great news for newhires at both companies? Not saying it is bad news, but could put them in a bad spot if they merged and decided to park a few airplanes. Just a thought, not flames.

No flames there, furloughs are probably inevitable even with minimal overlap.

If or when it happens it will be bad for all of us. It will kick off a chain of mergers. Just my thoughts, everyone says I'm a pessismist.

"the nation's second- and third- largest carriers that would keep the United name and the corporate headquarters in Chicago, The Associated Press has learned."

Does this mean Mr.Tilton runs two Major carriers into the ground instead of one?

Take United's west coast presence and adds Delta's east coast presence. Add United's pacific routes and Delta's atlantic routes. This could make for a good outcome.

It will only take one merger to set off several others. Fewer airlines make it easier to raise fares, and that means higher profits!

Do you fly 747s for United or did your head get run over by one?

Press release says Delta CEO Anderson would be the man in charge. Chicago remains HQ, ATL becomes operational center.

I think UAL has been clearing the deck chairs for this for quit some time. MOC sale makes sense with the ATL Tech Ops center.

I like the thought of getting rid of Tilton, and of all the other carriers I think DL has always been a class act and have a deep respect for them. Certainly hope if this gathers momentum we all fair well.
