FACTS

Colgan pilots are some of the most productice pilots in the business.

Colgan pilots are paid below average for the equipment they fly (except Beech FO, which is high, but they are going away soon so doesn't matter)

Colgan pilots have some the worst work rules around (reason why they are the some of the most productive)

Work rules change day to day (example: As of last week they are saying they will only pay hot reserve if there are all 3 crewmembers on duty)

The company has never been staffed properly (people aways getting extended, drafted,)

You have to interview to upgrade

Company is outstation based on the East Coast (not for long) and hub based in IAH

You bet, I wouldn't say anything unless I had experienced it first hand.

I don't think you can "fail" the interview. What they can and have done is put off you upgrade. More then a handful have had their upgrade delayed a few months (thats that many months not making CA pay). A select few have been told they will not upgrade period. People who upgraded right away have still unsat in sim, AND there have been some times where FO's upgraded without having an interview despite the fact the company says you must have one. Hmmmm and people actually wonder why there is all this ALPA talk.

Note to self:

Colgan, though the upgrade has been said to be quick, and PIC Turbine time is important, seems inadequate in morale, thus causing early grey hairs.

Ok, so there is one disgruntled employee's opinion (Mudpuppy), anyone else? Any happy folks out there with tenure? By the way Mudpuppy with all the interviews going on, why are you still there?

Do a search of Saab's posts...pure hatred of Colgan going on there.

I like it so far, awesome people to fly with. i got my first choice base, no bad experiences with scheduling, plenty of time off, and the family atmosphere still exists (though i don't know how much longer.) we are having tremendous growth which means the company is stable, and is progressing. i'm glad the company has goals for growth and i am more forgiving to them for it. (i'm still on the fence with alpa as some of you know)
