Are you serious? I think your comment is the one that lacks rational thought.

Do you know what every passenger or bag weighs? If 100 lbs. were as critical as you seem to be implying then I'm sure we'd have a more accurate system in place.

Do you remember how the weights changed after the 1900 crash in Charlotte NC? One day you were legal and safe and the next you could be 500 lbs over weight (in a 50 seater) with the exact same load.

Look at this falsification on www.onelevelofsafety.com/faq/
The FAA also mandates that all first officers must have at least 250 hours of experience serving as the pilot in command on cross-country flights.

A flat out lie...

No new information here, maybe an eye opener to the public, but after living it, there was no wow moment. As far as the issues that the industry faces, someone built the boat and we got on. As much as I and every one else hates Mr. O - his statement of "As long as resumes come across his desk there is no need to raise pay" is right. We have done this to ourselves or at the very least are willing accomplices.

Every time I saw Cohen's mouth start moving, all I could think about was this:

What an absolute tool of scumbag management.
They even look similar too!

Who is the management pilot on the video? Which airline?
It looks like a Skywest uniform, which wouldn't surprise me at all that they would find a Skywest pilot to do this.

I think that what they really need to do is require the mainline to be liable for all flying done under their name.

Wanna really get the word out? Pull your money together, maybe get a sponsor (ALPA? yeah right).

Go to Frontline and ask them for permission to duplicate and pass out copies of this video on DVD.

Make a couple hundred thousand.

Then in your off duty time, you pass these DVDs out to kids, famlies, and business people after they get off the flights and exit the airports. More effective would be to do this over a busy holiday travel weekend. Get the press involved. They would love that.

PBS/Frontline did an amazing job here. Unfortunately, I bet only a few thousand individuals watched the show. It's going to be up to us to get this story out.

You have a real vendetta for this F/O and there's got to be a good reason for it. No one else thinks what he did was wrong, including myself.
Haven't you heard the rule "what happens in the cockpit, stays in the cockpit."? If something really bugs you then post brief with your crewmember, and learn from the circumstance. If you feel you need to take it further, then use your union reps, pro standards, or whatever safety mechanism is in place at your company. But don't blue falcon your buddy.

This documentary could be a great tool in addressing the plight of regional pilots to the general public.

Roger Cohen is an bonofied a@@ wipe. Let's get a fact striaght Roger, you can wax average pay all you want but what really matters is base x 75 for a low end and base x 100 for high end pilot pay for month. Quite a few regionals starting FO wages will be well short of 32K on the high end.

50 bucks for a room near EWR...it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that won't get a decent, clean room at an average Holiday Inn or La Quntia, let alone the Marriot type place Cohen stays in.

Prater waxes about management wanting to outsource labor, yet his outfit hasn't done much to raise the bar for the guys who could use it the most. But it appears your dues insure he never misses a meal.

Larry Keller and that VP of safety ought to be charged with contempt for blowing off US senators under oath by not getting back to them when they said they would.

Trenary is the biggest scumbag for lying through his teeth to a victims father saying, ''We've taken care of it.'' Taken care of what Phil? You run two horse siht airlines and gave one of your pilot groups a long fight for a new TA. How has that taken care of anything related to safety? I hope he burns in hell.

Finally there is the FAA. But, since there run by Congress it appears when it comes to safety there just as dysfunctional as the industry they regulate.

I hate to say it but this is one of the problems in the industry. Too many are afraid to stand up and tell someone how they feel. I'm sure everyone can think of someone they have flown with who they believe should not be allowed in the cockpit of an airliner. Reading some of the posts over the last year it sounds like Marvin was that type of person. These type of people aren't only at the regionals. Every airline; Legacy, Major, LCC and Regional, has these type of people that somehow have slipped through the cracks. They could be the nicest person in the world but they just don't belong in the cockpit.
