For other nerds who may care:

American's first 787 apparently started final assembly on the line in Everett this week.

I stumbled across an airliners show in LAX and there was model of a 787 in the old lightning bolt scheme. That would be a sharp heritage scheme, but I guess not so much without the polished fuselage.

According to a 787 CKA, the first jet will be doing JFK-LAX for a month. Officially (2) deliveries this month.

It could be yours if the price is right.

Good looking airplane in new AA colors. I didn't like the scheme, or logo at first, but I guess it's growing on me.

I agree, it's starting to grow on me but I still think the body color won't weather well. IMO after about 6-7 years it will look dirty and rusty much like the old UA paint scheme did. Hope I'm wrong but after 5 years working as a sales rep for Sherwin-Williams you could say I'm familiar with all types of paint.
